What Have Wave Alumni Done Post Training?
A common question prospective students regularly ask us is what our graduates have gone on to do after they complete the Wave Coach Training Program. We understand this is a way to go beyond the testimonials and to understand what doors are open after completing the training program. We share that we have students who come to Wave from different pathways and thus have different motivations and goals for how taking the program will help them. These are the post program trends we have seen so far (Note, they are not mutually exclusive).
Taking the National Board Exam: This is a primary objective for many of our students. While you have up to 5 years post program completion to apply and sit for the exam, most students take it within 1 year of program completion. We are glad to get to support our students with our free 7 week exam prep series, and hearing from them after scores are released!
Developing their own offerings: About a third of our students are interested in pursuing the entrepreneurial route and adding on to or creating their own businesses. Whether this be adding on to what can be offered to clients for fitness instructors, or a brand new company, we love to see what they create.
Working for companies: Our graduates have gone on to work as a coach for within and alongside medical practices, as well as companies like Spring Health, Virta Health, Mantra Health, BetterUp, Vivante Health, Omada Health and more! We support alumni with sharing job postings, interview prep, and connecting to fellow alumni who are also at these companies.
Integrating the coaching skillset into other career fields: We have seen graduates bring their training into healthcare, education, public health, social work and community organizing roles. They share with us that this helps them by enriching their effectiveness in their work, and helping to generate and create more with those around them.
There is no one career path for how Coach training can serve someone, and we are incredibly proud of all of our alumni, and glad that they have been able to bring what they have learned forward in their lives. We are grateful to stay in touch with them via our Alumni community, and to get to see them build greater connections between each other as well.
The next cohort of the Wave Coach Training Program will begin September 4, 2024. To register, visit our website.
