Wave Life, The Blog
Tia* (32, they/them) works in education and lives in Maryland. When Tia came to Wave, they were just recovering from a particularly intense depressive episode. Their first assessment showed symptoms of severe depression, moderate anxiety, and normal stress.
In Tia’s following two assessments, their depression had fallen into the normal range and stayed there. Going from “severe” depression symptoms to “normal” has made a huge impact on their life. Tia reported having a lot more compassion with themselves, more understanding self-talk, and a better ability to deal with life’s challenges. They’ve also increased their communication with friends and people at work, which has helped them feel a lot less alone.
Meet Jeremy* (27, he/him). Jeremy works in business development and lives in Georgia. When Jeremy came to Wave, his anxiety was ruling his life. His first assessment showed symptoms of severe anxiety.
After about 4 sessions, Jeremy repeated the assessment and his severe anxiety symptoms had shifted to moderate anxiety symptoms. He told Julie that the success he was having managing his anxiety was giving him so much relief. He also shared feeling more confident and open to exploring how coaching could help in other areas of his life.
Anya wanted to feel more confident at her new job. Anya (40, she/her) works in publishing and lives in Chicago. When Anya came to Wave, she was stressed about transitioning to a new job. Her first assessment showed symptoms of moderate anxiety, moderate depression, and moderate stress. Anya’s overthinking was getting in her way.
After about 8 sessions, Anya repeated the assessment and her moderate anxiety, depression, and stress symptoms had all dropped into the normal range. Anya told Sam that she was feeling much more open to trying new things and excited about where coaching could take her.
